The Singapore Youth Festival is fast approaching and on behalf of the pioneers, I would like to wish you dancers all the best for your dance item. In these few weeks leading up to the competition, I hope you guys set your differences aside and focus on your team's main objective - to win Gold (with Honours).

Please take care of yourselves and do not let your team down. Practice hard but at the same time do remind yourself to rest well too. Be confident on stage and the judges will be confident of your performance. Trust me, if you have practised well enough and heeded the advice given by your dance instructors, you will feel like you have conquered the stage as it lifts you up and turn each and every movement that you execute into pieces of art.

Believe in yourself. Believe in your team members. If all of you have the same goal in mind, then nothing can stop the team from winning the coveted prize.

Climb And Remember

Hello.

The unpredictables of life have two consequences.

It can let you down. It buries a hole so deep that it makes climbing up impossible. And so you blamed. You blamed the rocky walls for not lending their hands to carry you upwards till you reach the surface above. You forgot. You forgot that the walls have ears and not arms. You kept blaming and forgetting. And before long, you died.

Nonetheless, the sudden shifts of life can also lift you up. Yes, it still buries you deep beneath the ground with nothing in sight. But you did not blame. Instead, you started climbing. You gave the rocky walls hands. You remembered. You remembered that walls have strength and not courage. You kept climbing and remembering. And before long, you reached the top.

We tend to depend on the surroundings and the people around us. We do that so that we can blame them when we did anything wrong. And when we fail, we keep whining and hope that they would come back and help us again. But we forgot. We forgot that in the end the person who ultimately fails or succeeds is our individual selves.

It is about time. About time we stop depending on others, but ourselves. It is about time we keep climbing and start remembering. It is about time we reach the top.

School Reopens and Dance practices continues

Hello dancers: Happy 2009 to everyone! :)

Please reminded to the dancers who are involved in the Chinese New Year item about the upcoming practices this week.

Welcome back to school by the way, as for mine its a still a week away.

I'll be only coming on this coming Monday and Wednesday and days after that I'll be starting my school and most likely I wont be able to be there to guide you along the dance practices. So I will need you cooperation to complete my choreography on Monday and Wednesday. So please brush up on your steps at home yeah?

Date: 5th January (Monday) & 7th January (Wednesday)
Time: Monday: 3:30pm, Wednesday: Morning (time ain't sure, please text Ms Hidayah)
Venue: Needlework Room
Attire: Dance shirt and long pants. Those who fail to comply shall suffer the consequences.

Note: A little note for the dancers, you have a little homework to do for the weekend.
Write down what does Chinese New Year mean to you, and what are the basic rituals the Chinese do during the Chinese New Year. There will a little sharing session either on Monday or Wednesday, it depends.

Dear dancers,

I know Azhar, Yeong Chyun and I were hard on the juniors during the Tuesday only because of of a few reasons, but before I reveal all the reasons I would like to say what are the reminders that I would like to remind everyone and they are:

1) Study your subjects regularly, every night 2 hours at least, practice Math on the Ten year series, especially. Listen to your teachers, don't be a attention seeker, because you'll never win.

2) Put aside an hour to practice your steps. Will do a freshmen in the first 30 minutes of the nest practice on Monday.

3) Make your parents and Ms Zu happy by staying out of trouble, [grounded, smoking, uniform] and all that. Surprise Ms Zu showing how happy and united you are.

4) Tell your parents you love them, make a card, I assure you it doesn't cost that much, really.

Notes: I would like to apologize for being to harsh today because you people were on my nerves. Sorry for the tears and shouting, if you people had not make so many mistakes I wouldn't have scolded you people at all.

I'M SO SORRY.

Please improve on those top five main reasons for not doing well in your dance practices by the next practice and that is on Monday. Improve on your banner too.

These people please help those who are not a strong dancer like you are: Tiffany, Josephine, Shahirah, Aifah and Suzie. You girls are very good dancers, and so hence you should be helping other dancers to improve at their steps.

Neyo - Make it Work.

Dear Ms Zu,

I hope you are enjoying your holidays at Perth, Australia, although I have to say I'm pretty jealous. Oh well, of course I'm kidding...

I'm here to update you on the progress of the SYF piece and the CNY performance hip hop routine. As for the SYF routine, I believe every single day the dancers are improving day by day. Even Jasmine thought they were pretty impressive, but of course nothing matches your standard.

3/4 of the work goes to Ryan amazing choreography! :)

Maybe I could video them down so that you're still able to watch from Australia, (woah Aussie, cool winds, sunny lands, pretty beaches, surfer dudes, uh heavenly). Oh well back to the point, and I hope you'll come back soon and I'll get to explain to you the story of the routine all about.

Secondly, the CNY performance. I've already completed almost a minute of the song that I'm choreographing and I must say the dancers are really keen to learn. I guess the genre gets them all hyped up, but of course they are not perfected yet, but ts okay they still have loads of time till their performance.

The song choice, is shown at the video above. The second part of the song is by Jasmine, and she'll be helping out soon enough. I'm glad someone is helping me! :)

PRACTICE ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY FOR CNY

Hello Good Evening dancers, it's Janna your lovely pioneer here writing an entry. As much as Im concerned of our dancers here, Ryan is buzy at the moment with O School and all, I wish that you'll put in a bit more effort on your part to practice your steps at home and outside with your friends.

SYF is a huge deal and I really do not want to see my juniors being disappointed when the results gets out and all. As much as I have believe faithin you people, you got to first have faith in yourself that you can do this.

Im not inspirational motivator or what so ever, is just that I grew in this dance group and taught me so many things and I don't want to see it crumble. I hate to see tears in people eyes (except tears of joy of course), especially my dancers.

You people are fun and energetic but one thing is lacking in you people, some trust in your fellow dancers. In dance trust is a huge factor. I think you people are not bonded enough, get together, have an outing, or even a camp but think of it you'll benefit later in life, in the group and most importantly as a team. I love you people I really do, is just trust isnt there.

And I got some shocking news for you people, for this upcoming Chinese New Year Performance, I'll be choreographing the dance steps. And honestly Im not sure if I can handle this huge task, but Ms Zu and Ms Hidayah have faith in me, depending if Jasmine is going to come and help. I'll let you know, if shes coming to help :)

Ive been browsing through videos on youtube and this two videos caught my attention, the steps are simple and super energetic. There'll be an audition for the CNY performance on Monday morning so don't be late, everyone who's late owes me some handsome load of punishment alright?

hey all Sherilyn here.

IMPORTANT:

Everyone PLEASE BE EXTRA CAREFUL on the streets these days there has been a pevert running around recently. Two of my neighbours in the adjacent blocks in the HOUGANG-PUNGGOL PARK AREA have been attacked. The attacker is believed to be a Male Indian man, possibly a foreign worker from the Buangkok MRT station condo (the Quartz) construction site. From first-person accounts the attacker is known to flash the victims then brutally try to drag them into punggol park. The first victim was molested and the second thankfully got away. Formal police reports have been made. The recent spate of molest cases happened in the afternoon in broad daylight so DO NOT BE COMPLACENT.
If possible go home in groups and carry something to protect yourself with like a penknife and hold it in your hand until you get into the house.

This area is nowhere near ulu so i never expected this. NO ONE IS SAFE, not even the guys.

Do take care. refrain from void deck hangouts and night ok?

I know I'm shameless that's why I'm posting my picture here. Hello people, its been quite a long time since I last update here. :)

Good morning people, my full name by my birth certificate is: Nuruljanna Marican bte. Md. Rafee and I'm currently studying in Millennia Institute majoring in Commerce, Economics and History and minoring in Physics. Once a stay back in Sec 5na and also one of the less talented dancers from the first batch of dancers from Auditions.

IF you people are just wondering what happened to Ms. Marican well I'm updating a few important things and also some very valuable things that you should know about me.

For the Sec 1's who have no idea whom am I. I am one of the pool of talented dancers from the batch of dancers before you're seniors. We performed the 2006 Syf and won the Gold Award. The experience and the hard work is amazing and I appreciate those little moments till today and I missed them dearly. :)

Alright enough of me, I shall update the more important things regarding the the Seniors and Juniors upcoming Dance Comp and that is the Punggol Inter-school Street Dance Comp. They will be dancing the theme of the Nutcraker with a Twist choreographed by the great Ryan Tan. This is the dance from the Speech day. And oh yes, not to mention I'm in charge of this event.

hi people.camp just finished.i hope everyone who was in the camp enjoyed it.had their fun also.especially the juniors.

day 1:

everyone assemble.had our 'western style' breakfast prepared by ms zu.next was watching videos of our pioneers 'Harvest' performance(SYF) and SYF 2007.ms zu told us about how modern dance started and was build.what the pioneers went through to get this kind of high standard of dance and respect from people in the school.Next was teaching of the 'Harvest' dance to the juniors.they do pick it up really fast.after the dance practice was games time.the 1 st game was 'THE AMAZING RACE', although it was tiring as they had to run around the whole school, up and down the level as they need to go to different blocks and rooms to answer all the answers.but it was fun.its a test to their stamina.*congrats to REGGAE for coming in 1ST(:*came back to needlework room and was lunch time.went out to have our lunch and came back.Stage make-up course was next.juniors do had fun during that session trying on different make-up.different colors for everyone.Next game up was 'Name Train'..naming everyones names in the group.den proceed to 'Whacko'.a blur look was shown on the one(who is supposed to go whacked another person) when people are pointing in different directions and him/herslef was unsure of who is who. 'HARE & FOX' was next.we play at the carpark infront of PE cabin.the person(Fox) supposed to catch the other person(Hare) was busy running. and every other people was pratically sreaming like crazy people even if they are not the one being chased.haha.the last game for the day was 'Behind the Cloth.every participant from each group was 'ERM...ERM ...ERM very loudly to distract each other.Amalyna was extremely shock when she found out Ms Zu was on the one on the other side scaring her.hahas.laughter filled the room.everything was going quite well until around evening time..there was some misunderstanding or unhappiness between us.luckly everything was resolved at the end of camp.dinner continued and shower.At 7.45, 3 of our pioneers, Azhar...Zhi Yi...Yeong Chyun.they did a short dance demo for all of us.they only had around half an hour of time to practice and i'm happy to say, they did a good job(:after that was the 'NIGHT WALK' juniors were blind folded and split into three groups.3 senior per group to ensure during passing through the obstacles nobody had any accident.passing through obstacles and other strange stuffs that were played on them was included.back to needlework room.we started the movie screening.'STEP UP (1)' was the movie screened.although some small groups at the back was having their small conversation,they did not disturb the rest from watching the movie.i think those who watched it did enjoy also.movie anding around 11pm++ some of us was getting ready to sleep.sleeping bags laid nicely.as for those who do not want to sleep yet.went out of the room to avoid disturbing the rest.saw afew cute juniors practicing their dance(Harvest) they had learnt earlier.

day 2:

Rise and Shine(:everyone washed up and got ready.a few seniors lead the juniors for exercise.while other seniors tidy up the room.as rubbish was everywhere and room was very dirty(soil bits.)juniors came back.had our breakfast brought by ms zu(: and Flippers came.they were Muzzamil & Syaiful did some stunts to show us.after that we played games again.the 2 most popular games we played before..'HARE & FOX.....WHACKO!'had tons of fun once more..smiles on all our faces.and during 'HARE & FOX' game.people were once again screaming like maddies when they were not the one being chased.one special thing about this round is....MS ZU JOIN IN THE FUN(:she definetely had her own way of escaping from being caught or from running around.hahas.playing time ended and comes the cleaning duty.we were split into half and went different ways.one group was in-charge if the toilet and the other group was our own needle work room.kept the mattresses back and sweep the floor again.got feedback from the juniors.some of the seniors was quite disappointed to hear that the juniors did not really enjoy the night walk.but we cannot blame others.cause we didnt plan it well.in fact is the whole camp.everything was very last minute.but we were glad that the juniors did had fun during the games.and now its for time to break camp.(:

Check out Lee Zhi Yi's choreographed NYJC College Mass Dance '08. It's a mass dance, so the steps are very simple and easy. Hehe. Video uploaded in 'Miscellaneous'. Enjoy!

Other pioneer modern dancers, Fauzana and Hidayah, has also won Top Prize in a Malay Traditional Arts, Dikir Barat, competition.

I will update on the most recent activities of our pioneers (when i am free, which means once per month). I am sure some of you, especially Ms Zuu, is wondering what they're doing now.

5 Singapore Girls Earns $8,000 In Youtube, Just By Dancing!

WE TURN PASSION INTO BUSINESS, confessed Jasmine, the leader of the 5-girl dance team. The team, known as D-Spirit, was formed about 2 months ago and has since earned around $8,000 just by showcasing their dance performances in Youtube.

So how did they do it? They first create a cool Youtube webpage; one that will draw the attention of youngsters nowadays. Next, they will get in their dance gear and record their performances through a video camera.

Then, they will upload the video into Youtube. We were also told that they would share the videos with their friends through e-mail. The first two videos the group uploaded managed to reel in a combined audience of more than 600,000 views.

They earn money through the advertising fees. The advertiser's company logo will be printed on the dancers' shirts. Besides the logo will also appear at the end of the videos.

D-Spirit webpage has up to date more than 5,540 subscribers in total. According to Jasmine, they have to train very hard and come out with original choreographies before recording the performances.

DanceWorks! '08 is an annual nationwide anti-drug dance competition, organised in conjunction with the Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign 2008. DanceWorks! 08 will mark the 10th anniversary of this event!

Hello guys,

I have told you guys that i am researching about dance. Well, just to answer some of the tags, i am doing a project/essay competition and it goes something like to solve the world's problems today.

Conflict among countries.

I read a story about this footballer who successfully used football to settle a conflict in his country.

I am currently working on having dance as a method for peace. There's more to dance, like i said. And i believe dance can be used to solve the atrocities of the world.

I have asking around more about dance for this generation from friends like Jasmine = ). Just to see how it has evolved and if it is suitable for the culture of the war-struck countries or nations rooted onto the poverty cycle.

I hope people like Ms Zuu can give comments or opinions regarding my idea. Thank You.

I am back to post again.
Ok..recently i have been rather intensively researching a lot about dance.
i think there's more to dance.
that i don't know and trying to figure out.

and another thing is this topic is very useful for my General Paper in college.
seriously.

let's start.
i would like to share some of the interesting things about dance that maybe some of u might not realize.
ready?

1) The 3 levels of dance

I realized something about good choreographers/dancers out there. They love to choreograph in 3 levels. I think it is the top (head and above motion), the middle (body, hands motion) and the low (legs, butt and below motion). And it think it is cool. Seriously. Getting from one level to another and then another creates the variation rather than juz for example moving with your legs and hands. Why not wobble ur head or sth? Or i have seen more cooler once, rotating of body followed by legs. Another aspect would be when dancers kneel down or bend lower to create the 3 level effect which is really amazing. This can also be seen in ethnic dance culture like the Malay Dance, whereby you can see them standing up right, then lowering a little and sometimes kneeling down.

2) Fast and slow motion

Another thing i really enjoyed is the fast and slow motion. It is according to the beats. I noticed some choreographers/dancers are really good at this. Those slow motion acts. Or slow moves. Then suddenly fast action. This effect is really amazing i must say.

3) Facial expression

I took this out after watching a wave vid. This guy was doing a body wave and a vomitting motion as he ends the wave. The thing that catches my attention as how he did his facial expression. It creates that special effect. It's creates life to be exact. Some dancers also tend to create different expressions at different routines. Like sometimes they keep smiling and when the music starts to get fiercer with bigger beats, their face turns like someone crazy and shouting. This might seem unimportant but considering if they're judges in front of u, it creates more life to the whole dance. This is a unique trait of 'So you think you can dance?' winner, Benji Schwimmer. I have watched his videos, he can do the serious look, then smile and then do the moves around his mouth big, like saying 'Wo!'.

PS: Don't use wikipedia to research on ur dance alone. Wikipedia has tonnes of flaws in their information. Do a cross-reference by asking around ur fellow dancers and/or instructors.

Who are dancers?

This question pops into my mind. And i just feel like writing. The question is 'Who are dancers?'

Is it someone who is physically fit and slim and sexy?

Is it someone who has been to many dance workshops?

Is it someone who just has the stage presence?

Is it someone who has won many dance competitions?

Is it someone who has the coolest dance outfits?

Is it someone who can choreograph a dance piece?

Or is it just someone who can move his/her body?

What is dance really? I came across a comment in Youtube about this video. It is a video of a girl dancing on stage. An impromptu performance. Many viewers criticized it and claimed it was not Hip-Hop. It was not Jazz. Some even dare to say she was not dancing. So if that is not dancing, wth is dance?

Think.

Technique. Dance Technique. There are many different kinds of dance techniques. Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, House and many more. I guess most of the people out there missed out one. Freestyle.

I viewed the video again. I noticed something. The beats to the music. Her dance has no specific structure. Meaning, it not totally ballet or anything. Her moves are varied. And back to the beats. She dance according to the counts of the beats. That is freestyle, i think.

I guess some dancers out there who are trained in specific areas of the dance structure don't get this or they think they are too good. Personally, my definition of dance is the movement of the body according to the music beats.

And yes, i still believe that girl is really dancing.

Correct me i am wrong. Cause i want to learn too.

Hey dancers,

Azhar here.

I watched this video. The video is in the Miscellaneous section. It is really freaking HOT to the max. I GUARANTEE you guys will love it.

The video is a dance item by Beyonce (Crazy in Love) followed by solo dance acts by her dancers. And mind u, u will not leave the screen once the video is being played. Beyonce's dancers are very very very very GOOD. I repeated that 4 times huh. Totally HOT and SEXY! Watch it now! Don't forget to provide comments on what u think aites.

Now Beyonce chose 4 of her best dancers to perform the song. For a surprise, she allowed her dancers to do their solo acts on stage LIVE too. Man they're good.

1) Kyausha - She did one wonderful split and has lots of energy

2) Melanie - She did some really cool krumpin' (or sth that has got to with the hips/butt) [my personal favourite]

3) Renece - Fantastic

4) Aisha - I think she did a split while krumpin' and more [my personal favourite]

Take note of their facial expressions and how they want to outshine the other. It's like a battle. The whole audience went crazy. Forgive me if i am wrong for the dance techniques they executed. Let's wait for Jasmine to view it and educate us the dance techniques they used. Watch and Learn people.

And to add on, a little personal. A really like Beyonce. She really dance her ass out. You can actually see her panting in the performance. I guess singing LIVE and dancing at the same is hell tiring. Take note of her facial expression. The attitude. Arghh. She's my girl.

You will never understand how much effort and passion we had put into the dance because you are not a dancer. You would not not know what is hip hop, street jazz, modern jazz, locking, popping, breaking, all types of different styles of dance or even the techniques that each style requires. month of December 2007, it will take centre stage at the Atrium @ Orchard.
Heartware Network is a 7-year old charitable youth organization with a core focus in
developing youth into Youth Champions for the community. We engage our youths to
be proactive in service with heart by equipping them with the skills and social ‘heartware’
(i.e. character values) to take on active roles in inspiring others to make a difference.

OBJECTIVES
1. To go beyond the festive celebrations by reaching out to the public and promoting
volunteerism as a lifestyle rather than just acts of kindness.
2. Promote volunteerism amongst youths via Youth Bank (to benefit the community and
47 partnering NPOs).
3. To affirm the community spirit of "many helping hands,"
4. To gather the public with the people and private sectors to work together towards
one common community goal by contributing skills, funds and time.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
With an expected crowd of over 200,000, this month-long event will feature several
exciting and highly engaging attractions. Most importantly, it will share the spirit of
Giving from the Heart, not only in monetary terms, but in contribution of time through
volunteering. The highlights include:
1. A 21-m tall Celebration Christmas Tree
2. Stage performances by schools and organizations
3. Countdown parties on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
4. SuperIce skating rink
5. Online sign up and pledging of volunteering hours for Youth Bank

Performing groups are welcome to send their ensemble of musicians, singers, carolers
and dance troupes to volunteer their time in sharing Christmas cheer with the crowd.
This is an excellent opportunity for young budding performers to do their part for the
community by showcasing their talents. We welcome performing groups with other
performance ideas to contact us as well.

Grounded From Dance

This will be a sad post from me.
Well..
As some of you might know.
I was grounded from dance for about 4-5 months in 2006 for my 'O' levels.
It ended till the Dance Camp in November.

Well..
I am here to announce again that i cannot in whatsoever attempts etc be involved in any Modern Dance activity let it be Gathering, Performance or Dance Camp for about 3-4 months.
So in advance i would like to tell everyone to forget about me for this 3-4 months.
I mean if there's anything, leave me out for sure.
For sure.

Well..(this is the third time i wrote the word "Well.." -.-)
It has got to do with my results..
Bad results..
And thanks to my Junior College teacher who blamed and stamped the Genting Dance Trip as the reason why my results turned out bad..
She requested and told my parents to have stricter rules and drop Mohammad Azhar Bin Aziz from any dance activities, let it be with North Vista Secondary School or otherwise..
Failure to do so will result in further action..

Well..(again?!)

See you in 2008..

I decided to announce this because..
I do not want anyone to think that i have forgotten my roots etc in the future when there are dance activities..
However, I could TRY to persuade my mum if there's a gathering etc and convince her it will only take up not more than 2 hours or sth.
It's like they don't like NV Modern Dance no more.

Looking at the brighter side, i hope this helps to teach a lesson to all of u, esp me..-.-

Study tips.

Hello people,

Your September holidays are coming.

Below are some tips for you in preparation for your Final Year exams/'O' levels:

1. Spend at least 6 hours each day. Break it up into 4 parts, meaning study 1.5 hours and take a break.
Example
1st timeslot: 10am-11.30am
2nd timeslot: 1pm-2.30pm
3rd timeslot: 5pm-6.30pm
4th timeslot: 9pm-10.30pm

You will have breaks in between. A great way to take a rest and release stress. It will also help u well as u can allow ur brain to absorb what u have revised.

2. Form a study group. Make sure u study not chat. How to make sure? Just shut each other's mouth and be serious.

3. Study backwards. Some teachers advise this method. What does it mean? Study the topics u learnt in Jan-March the last and July onwards first.

4. Timetable. I don't really like this method. Use this only if u have strong self-discipline. Trust me. However, if used well, it can produce wonders.

5. Practice. Set a target how many questions u wanna do each day. For those questions u dunno, ask ur peers. This is where study groups will help.

6. Pray to God.

More tips!

Some people like me tend to allocate a subject for the different days. For example, Monday study Physics, Tuesday study Maths etc. Teach ur frens! When u teach a fren, it shows that u truly have mastered and understood the topic. So if there's an opportunity to help ur peers, just do it! Of course, ASK QUESTIONS! Clarify anything that u think is difficult for u.

Well, a few days ago..i bumped into someone who was smiling at me..i wondered who in the world is she and why is she smiling at me like that? Did she get the right person? I was wondering..then..after 2 minutes of critical thinking..LOL..i remembered..it was Mrs Stephanie Wong! One of the most beautiful teacher on earth i must say..Hehe..

I was actually really surprised that she could remember me...she taught me only for a year..And then i remembered sth...It was a quote that Mrs Tang told me after my morning assembly speech i presented alongside the voluptuous Samantha. I remembered, i said my trademark quote (hahahaha..) that is.."Dance changed me from a nobody to a somebody."

After i returned back to class, Mrs Tang 'scolded' me..=.=

She was like 'what u talking?'..and then she shared with me the quote i will always remember.

Did you know that Nurul Iwani is the first modern dance leader? She was appointed in 2005 after going through several interviews with Ms Zuhaidah.

Did you know that modern dance eating place used to be the small room located at the back of the music room? We used to eat prata and many more there. The canteen was too far and inconvenient for us.

Did you know that modern dance has taken in 3 originally non-modern dancers to perform with them for several really occassions? Megat, Yeong Chyun and Sirin have performed together with modern dance in Homecoming 2006 and Anti-smoking competition 2006. We uphold our motto, "Life is a Stage..We provide the Talents.." Till now, Yeong Chyun is still a pat of our family and will always be. = )

Did you know that 80% of the Dance Camp 2006 planning was actually done by The Prefectorial Board, mainly by Hamidah and Yeong Chyun? They were the ones who provided the skeleton and the rest done by the Camp In-Charge. During that period of time, Ms Zu was busy delivering her new baby. Hehe. All the safety measures of the camp were taken care of by both of them. Thank you guys!

Did you know that Ultimate Crew Challenge name and logo is created by Zhi Yi? It was her idea to have a competition among juniors during the camp. Initially it was supposed to be in Lecture Room. But we started to think too much and decided to do one in the hall, with the help of Ms Zu and her husband. Hehe.

Did you know that modern dance was supposed to have their room revamped early 2005? However, the design made by Janna was lost, thanks to Azhar. There were plans that we were sharing the room with drama, but it never happened.

Did you know that our modern dance room was nearly given FULLY to the Girl Guides? (or is it St John's?..nvm..haha) Our room was supposed to be relocated to the one behind the hall..next to the boy's toilet..we NEARLY moved there but managed to fight for our rights!

My school recently just had a dance competition known as DanceFest 07. Sadly, i didn't join. I am so disappointed that i can't make it because of camps and stuff.

So i would like to share with u the Champions of the competition. I saw the video in Youtube. Hmm..in my opinion, i give them 7/10 cause i just didn't feel the burning energy and expressions throughout the dance item. Some parts of the choregraphy is too 'down' in energy.

Hey guys..

Juz wanna share u guys sth..

Ok..i juz came back from avery fruitful and meaningful camp, Leadership Training Camp (LTC). It's a very different camp; it teaches me the skills of telling wad kind of person u are through ur actions and the dark secrets buried in ur hearts and minds..

I realized that all of us has many problems in ourselves..that's why some ppl are rude, backstabbers etc...i have learnt frm y facilitators to talk to these people and make them CRY as they let out their genuine reasons frm the heart...

I am expected to put in practice what i hav learnt in ths camp to help in my daily lives and the people around me..this includes u guys..I will start now..I will be very OPEN in this post...i learnt that holding back what i really what to express is really bad..therefore i will juz provide one example..

I used to really dislike Arifah for her really poor attitude..and i am very sure all of u dislike her too..But have u guys ever thought wad really happened to her that made her this way? No she is not pampared whatsoever..she is hiding sth inside her i am 100% sure of that..do not be surprised..the surface might be ugly, but the thing buried inside be the purest of all..and everyone has dat including her..

I learnt that instead of juz saying her out the facts to her face..i must talk to her in another way...i muz reveal that pure gem hidden in her heart...sth is covering it and i am very sure it has got to do with family problems...if i have time,i will want to apply wad i learn to help her and all of u..

Another thing i would like to say is that i am SORRY to all juniors out there..this goes on behalf of the pioneers also..once again i will be very OPEN..i have learnt that by juz talking and intructing u to do stuff won't work..I always complain that u guys hve no initiative, very slow, etc..and when u guys didnt improve, i scold u more and more..REPEATING the same things over and over again...I learnt this can actually worsen the situation..once again, SORRY aites..

There's a better way to handle this problem..Well, apparently these problems can't be solved now cause i am very busy...

If u guyz wan bright future ahead as dancers of North Vista, then i suggest u conduct a one/two-day camp etc for us to settle this once and for all...

Hmm..i juz have to apply wad i learn from the camp to my real life..this can be one gd opportunity for me to achieve that goal..

In this modern world where the dance industry is overly consumed by hip-hop followed by jazz and ballet, many forget a wonderful dancer who has ruled the dance arena once.

As an avid researcher in the different types of dance and dancers, i have found this particular man the best in the world in synchronisation choreography and footwork. His name is none other than Michael Flatley, a famous Irish dancer. He created his own show, Lord Of The Dance, and choreographed one of the most spectacular arts scene ever to conquer any stage, the Riverdance.
