Hi beloved souls,
as a pioneer of this huge family, i would like to give an advice or two to the juniors.
Firstly, one of the many things that will help us strive in the future is our UNITY. We must be bonded and shall work towards a more UNITED dance group. I hope and wish all of you can mix around together and understand each other better instead of staying in cliques or small groups of your own. What is more depressing is the presence of racial cliques; the Chinese and Malays in their own groups. I am optimistic and hopeful that this problem will be solved soon. We need to understand each other and stop emphasizing on our racial differences. If u juniors love your seniors, including me, than do us a favour. Stop those cliques and mingle with each other, regardless of race or religion. If they're problems, sort it out with fairness and maturity.
Secondly, it is none other than commitment. We don't need GOOD dancers who do not turn up for practice and have poor discipline. What we need is dancers who would go for training and practice until he/she improves. We may have a good choreographer, but if the dancers are not willing to cooperate and learn, what's the significance? A newly-born bird can't fly, but it keeps trying to flap it wings and after some time it manages to soar to the sky. Just like the newly-born bird, we dancers may not be able to dance well when we first join, but with commitment and a never-say-die attitude, we will rise to a greater stage. Once again, commitment and a good attitude and discipline are the key words.
Finally, is your character. Be humble when you have clinch your success. Being professional is another key to a good character. This especially applies when you're being critic by the audience. When someone critics you, do not scold or show your rage; instead, tell the person that you would improve on yourself. After winning competitions or clinching a GOLD for SYF 2007, remember to be humble. Learn new dance genres or styles and continue performing. And always remember to stay as a FAMILY.
Remember, dance with passion. Throw your face when performing on stage. It is nothing. What is important is your expression. Dance big and let all your energy out. Be confident of your steps; do not look at your other dance members when performing. Pray to GOD for future successes and good health. Thank GOD when you get them.
There'll be a dance gathering on the 23rd of December at Punggol Park. Time is 5pm - 9pm. See you there!
Yours truthfully,
"Juniors, our future depends on you guys" - azhar
